"Raining Down" was done in 20 minutes, and remains to me one of my spookiest songs. It still gives me chills. I had gotten out of a 120 day rehab program, and I had been sober for about 3 months when the thoughts of drink and drugs came back into my mind. I smoked two packs of cigarettes, staring up at the 16 foot glass window in my loft in SF's Potrero Hill, and it was pouring rain. I had two turtles, and you can actually hear their tank in the background of the track. I sat and looked at the rained out SF skyline and wrote this as a way to get my mind straight...
